Basic equipment will commonly have this card back.

Equipment consists of weapons, armor, spells, potions, and trinkets. Each player starts the Campaign with Fists, Ragged Robes, and a Potion of Minor Healing, apart from Khajiit who start with Claws instead of Fists. Certain game modes, such as Free Roam, will allow you to start with some more advanced equipment.

When you are in a Stronghold, you can craft any item from the Equipment Deck. The price for doing this is always 2 Ore Components, 2 Plant Components, or 2 Soul Gem Components, depending on the item.

For equipment obtained from Dungeons, Quests, and Enemies, see Treasure.

Starting Equipment[edit]

At the start of the game, each player takes a Fists, a Ragged Robes, and a Potion of Minor Healing card. For Khajiit characters, they take the Claws card instead of the Fists card. Both Fists and Claws count as two-handed weapons. If you don't have a weapon at any point of the game, you will default to using Fists (or Claws). Similarly, if you lose your armor, you will default to Ragged Robes.

  • Ragged Robes — A Robe that provides minimal protection.
  • Fists — The default weapon. The ability Punch deals minimal damage.
  • Claws — The default weapon for Khajiit. The abilities Scratch and Tear deal more damage than Fists.
  • Potion of Minor Healing — Heals 1 point of health, once per Combat Round.

Craftable Equipment[edit]

All cards in the Equipment Deck can be crafted while in a Stronghold. The price for doing so is always 2 Ore Components, 2 Plant Components, or 2 Soul Gem Components, depending on the item.

Market Equipment[edit]

While in a Stronghold, you can visit the Market to purchase new equipment from the Might, Shadow, or Sorcery decks, depending on what is available at the Stronghold. For the cost of 1 Septim you may draw a card, or two cards if you have the Speech skill. You can browse the Market further by paying an additional Septim. There is no limit to how many cards you can draw in a turn, but they must all be from the same deck. Once you have drawn all the cards you wish, you can buy as many of them as you want for the price listed on each card.

Notes[edit]

  • There are two Leather Armors, one is a Basic Treasure with a gold value of 5, and the other is in the Shadow Market with a gold value of 6. They are otherwise identical.
  • The Shadow Market's Lockpicks have a different name but are otherwise identical to the Lockpicking Tools found in Basic Treasure.
